Espresso and Le Tour De France - Page 2

2000! That must have been nuts. Largest group I ever rode with was several hundred on a 150km ride for Multiple Sclerosis out in Halifax, Nova Scotia a few years ago. Not a hard ride, but we left late and had to pass a lot of people; great people riding for a good cause, but passing that many makes for a busy day.

Six, with your mom and she is now 71 - huge respect to her (and you). I guess to bring this thread back to more espresso and less cycle-centric... I was reading your post sipping on a shot I had just pulled. It is an unusual blend from a few days ago (unusual for me, it's ratio's are on my blog) and it is stretching my pre-defined notions. Coincidentally as I was tasting the shot (and reading) I was considering how the taste was "outside of the norm" much like your mom riding that route at 71 is "outside the norm". Simpatico. Without getting too hokey, I shook my head and realized I should stop putting things into well titled little boxes that make sense (espresso should taste like this or nobody over 70 would do a ride like that) and try to more often expand my understanding of things. Of course that could just be the caffeine talking. ;-)

And I agree, better than being on the couch.

It's great to see I'm not the only rider who's got the urge for caffeine and good espresso guys!

Being in Denmark i ride mainly XC, and since we don't have a lot of trails I'm forced to riding on the same 2-3 trails around where I live. So I sometimes just roll around the woods on some simple non-tech double-track, as you some wise fella said "it's better than sitting on the couch"!

I'd love to go to Canada and the USA for some riding, being on mtbr.com really makes me feel bad about my crappy riding conditions! The pictures and ride reports are just amazing, coupled with some fantastic photos it's almost like being there yourself.
