Hey Jim, I don't know about the Sunday hours, but have you tried Caffe Sportivo in Redwood City on Brewster, or the Fraiche Yogurt shop in Palo Alto?

Sportivo uses Ecco Cafe coffee while Fraiche uses Blue Bottle. I've found both to be good although not necessarily the same as Barefoot or Verve.

LOL... I agree Marshall, and thanks, I needed the laugh this morning.

No, I haven't tried either of those, so thanks and good show Jim, I'll go try them! Perhaps I may end up paying out on that coffee... :)

I've actually picked up fresh Barefoot beans and gotten a couple of drinks along with a pastry at Satura cakes on University in Palo Alto, so I guess that's one more option, though not quite on par with their bean supplier I think. (Satura also makes the pastries for the Barefoot cafe and the same ones, along with many others, are available there - if you've got a sweet tooth, I highly recommend a stop in for that alone.)

There PLENTY of places in NOVA/DC to buy good coffee...

Thanks so much for the information! I tried searching here and could not come up with much info. Chinatown is on my list, but I haven't been able to make it there yet. I'll check out some of the other places you listed as well (note to self -- many places that actually carry good espresso beans are NOT listed as coffee shops  )

You're welcome!

Unfortunately, I don't drive past any of those on my commute!

Tried Caffe Sportivo yesterday - and you're right, not up to Ritual or Barefoot, but they sell Ecco beans, and definitely better than others I've tried in the Redwood City/San Mateo area.

Worth checking out (although BARELY within your 200m radius I believe):

Chocolate Fish, 400 P Street Sacramento

Temple Coffee, 1014 10th Street Sacramento

Old Soul Co, 1716 L Street Sacramento

In:)

My GF and I decided to go out for Coffee last weekend as well.

We stopped at our favorite Cafe here in Boise(Flying M) and ordered espressos. They were great and pulled ristretto w/o even asking.

We decided to go up to a nice little neighborhood in N. Boise to try out a cafe she was interested there. They had bags of beans for sale so when I ordered, I kindly asked where they roasted. They lady defensivly responded "San Diego", then added that they recieve them within 3 days so they were EXTREMELY FRESH. I thanked her and waited some time for my espresso. Lets just say its certainly wasn't worth the wait...

Still have the 'Powered by Flying M' sticker on my truck! From the original in Nampa. On the other hand, when I got back to Tucson, I wanted to have a bit of a jam/cupping at my house, called Flying M, told them that I was planning a jam for the weekend, ordered my coffee and was assured that it would be there before Friday.
Monday, when it arrived, I had to call them back and cancel the order.
Great coffee, not quite ready to be a supplier through the mail yet.
