Craigslist Seattle - http://seattle.craigslist.org/skc/clt/1435327567.html

Be forewarned - No lowballers can apply! There is a lot of good material here but I like that there might be 10lbs of 4 to 14 year old beans, a t-shirt with miss-spellings, a single golf ball and a whole bunch of stuff that seems like it might have been stolen from supply cabinets.

In order to use these items, you would have to either have to really, really, really like Starbucks or have a talent for irony that is rarely found.

Since that can disappear anytime, here's the text:

Hello,

I worked twice for starbucks during the 1998-2005 period. If you are a collector of Starbucks items, then I have some employee only items for you.......$200 for all, no bidding on just a few items.

One 2000 Holiday Starbucks Resource Center holiday t-shirt........I have worn and washed.....better than OK condition.
One 2005 Foodservice Coffee Master Amassadors Cup t-shirt (that's how they spelled it on the shirt!!!!) and never worn.
One Starbucks steel steamer...from corporate office
Nine bags of 2.5oz Xmas Blend
One bag 35th Annv of Seattle Best
One Green Apron Book....only an employee would have this.
One 2005 Partner Forum Human Connection Card from company wide annual meeting.
One Promotional Starbucks golf ball
One Espress-O-Meter with Starbucks on one side and Seattle Best on the other.....only an employee would have this.
Two signs...We Proudly Brew Starbucks Coffee and Starbucks Espresso Roast.
15 mini Starbucks, Seattle Best and Torrefazione taster cups.
Two Starbucks corporate office note pads.
One Starbucks mouse pad.
Two Xmas Starbucks cups.
Two Clear Glass Starbucks cups from the corporate office.
Misc Creamice plastic cups, ice cream sampler, magnet and a few other small items.

Never used one Merlitta Coffee Burr Mill.

T-shirts were only given to employees, along with Green Apron Book and Partner Connection Card.

These items would make a good addition to a collectors collection.

Please email me your phone # and I will get back to you....no low ballers need apply!

Thanks!!!!

I apologize for the behaviour of my fellow dutchmen.
The sad thing is that this machine encourages people to interact more with their coffeemachine.
First DE makes coffee as unpersonal as possible with their horrid Cafitesse and Senseo machines and now they want us to feel connected to our coffee. Shitty DE coffee is not something i want to feel connected with.

I used to have one of those when I was a kid. But instead of a switch, you put a penny into a holding slot; the hand would come out and grab it!

This thread has been quiet for far too long. And so, in other coffee-related news...

Wacky weather has Houston TX coffee geeks in a tizzy! As temperatures recently plummeted into the 50's, espresso lovers huddled together to brave the dangerously cold weather.

Jon R:
It has been a WILD couple of days here in Houston. We're several years early for a snowfall (last one was in 2004), plus I think I heard we broke a record for the earliest recorded freeze. And there is another more serious ramification: our kitchen was chilly 68°F this morning! (This is about 5°F cooler than normal). I simply could not stomach the swill that came out of my GS/3.

Nicholas:
Got into a fight with the missus at the worst possible time. Can you believe it? She demanded that I share the kitchen countertops, something lame about preparing dinner for the baby. No way I was going to move my new espresso gear, uh uh...

Good thing you were wearing a long-sleeved top, that's planning ahead.

Jasonian:
Point that thing at me again, and I'll bite it off.

Fellow H-Bers, we need to start an Espresso Relief Fund to help out our poor brothers and sisters in Houston. Please send PayPal contributions to RapidCoffee@home-barista.com. :P

Meanwhile, we're having typical December weather up here in the Banana Belt:

But nothing like last December, when it actually got cold:

I believe that JonR's quote went something more like:

I'm gonna blame it all on him. It got so cold here that I've had to turn the heater on in my truck and had to put a jacket on during the day!

I feel for you guys but I can't think of Houston as anything but balmy to beastly hot. The media just can't be trusted these days. Snow!?
