Commercial equipment from WLL

Postby cannonfodder on Mon Sep 18, 2006 4:50 pm

I noticed somewhere that WLL had commercial equipment now. So I thought I would hop over and take a look at their offerings.

Their commercial page has a marketing slide show banner with thing like, have a convenience store, we can help, want to start a cart/kiosk, we can help etc... There is photo of what I assume is supposed to be a cappuccino with mounds of soap bubble foam and another with one of the worst looking extractions I have ever seen. You would think they could manage a good shot of espresso and decent microfoam photos. Yuck! :|

I don't think they are going after the LM/Synesso buying market segment. The pitch looks more for turnkey installed, idiot proof coffee. All that's missing is a slide guaranteeing they'll pay back their investment inside a year.

Oh my. Below are examples of the images in question:

I have been served drinks that looked like these. I paid for and threw them out only minutes later, (inexcusably) choosing not to return to demand a refund.

Actually, I'm not surprised. Those examples simply mean their barista skills are on par with their customer service...

It must be that canned espresso they sell. They are on the east coast I think, their page is not loading. I will be in NYC next week. I can pull shots and make cappas for them to photo if I can play with a LM FB80 with beans of my choosing.

it took you MINUTES? Plural?

A couple of years ago, JavaMan Rick K. and I went to Commercial Drive, the old Italian area of Vancouver (BC), and visited an oldtimers' place where we were served beverages worse than these (can you believe, a 6oz SINGLE?) We walked out, leaving both of them on our table, after the obligatory 2 minute conversation about looking for Tony Soprano and Pauli Walnuts among the clientele . . . .
