Breville Knock Box - $9.99

Postby JR_Germantown on Sat Mar 20, 2010 1:41 pm

I ran across a good deal on a basic knock box today at my local Williams Sonoma Outlet store. It's not anything fancy, but some of us don't want to spend $40 on something to hold used pucks. This one isn't bad looking and I think it's well worth $9.99. It's much larger than the one I'm currently using. It's the Breville Knocchi BCB100, and it sells at other places from around $20-$50 (USD). The inside is a one-piece plastic tub/bar and I would not recommend it for a commercial setting--but for the home kitchen, it's probably fine.

Sounds like a solid deal. I've never looked at WS for espresso gear. Do they have a pretty good stock/selection, at least as far as normal retail shops go?

Nice deal. It was $20 on clearance at Crate and Barrel's outlet store.

I use this knoxbox, and that is an excellent deal. The outside is a die cast stainless steel, stays clean and cleans easy. I have dropped it, no dents. The inside is massive. It would be nice if the bar could pull out, but it is padded well and hasnt done any damage to my filters, so that makes up for it. I def recommend this if you dont have a knoxbox.

The one thing nobody complains much about with breville is build. Looks and quality are solid, and no thermoblock here to screw it up.

Maybe compared to Macy's or Kohl's or something but in general it's not something most people here would get real excited about. They seem to like to feature the superautos. They carry Breville so they have the Ikon line which which has a decent drip grinder. They have some Gaggia sometimes but they carry a lot of Nespresso and Delonghi junk. I did get some decent tulip-shaped cappuccino mugs there once.

I seem to recall that several years ago WS did carry the Gaggia Factory - but only, I believe, the smaller of the two models (the one without the pressure gauge) - and they had pretty good sale prices on 'em when they closed 'em out...
