If you're looking for something designed for the home, perhaps the Baratza Vario or the new Sette.

I used mine first with a Mazzer Super Jolly, then a Mazzer Major (which I still use). Easy to pull great shots.

Did it include all of the necessary accessories?

Yes it came with everything and then some. The only missing item was the plastic grate from the drip tray. I ordered one on ereplacements for $13.00. Thanks for the grinder info. Looking at those now.

I didn't even know this thread existed. I started a rebuild thread over on the lever forum, but I guess I should put it here too.

Rancilio Classe 6 Leva 3gr. Complete with all portafilters.

Bought for $450, but after I found all the scale inside, the seller refunded $300. So I own this for $150, an 8-hour round trip to Wash DC and $60 in Calcinet. And I guess a lot of elbow grease.

Excellent buy. Was this a Craigslist find?

Picked up an EK for 500€. Pretty good shape for an early model! Burrs were completely toast but thankfully received good, used set from a friend.
Serial number 288571. Maybe from the 1960's?

Marker on the burrs after alignment^

Noticeable improvement from my Vario with steel burrs. Only down side is that it's very loud at 6:30 in the morning!

I like vintage coffee gear, especially classic designs. My friend Cher, aka doubleOsoul, visited last summer and showed me an Atomic coffee maker her son had found in a Goodwill for something like $18. I knew I'd eventually want one. This week I scored one that isn't super cheap but a bargain at the price (less than $300 after shipping), a Sassoon Atomic, possibly as early as 1947 -- there's no steam wand to show that is an early model 65 - 59 years old. It's in mint condition, possibly the best preserved of that model and badge. It's on its way from the UK as I write this. The seller tells me it was found in a house clearing, tucked away in a cupboard. This hasn't been restored and is as it was found. I hadn't known that one was made with a Bakelite warming cover for the jug. Here are a few photos from the eBay listing. The Bakelite looks completely new. I'll post a thread in the Brewing forum after it arrives.

Added, 10/29/16: I unpacked it and see that it has never brewed coffee! At the most it was tried with water that left a bit of blue scale, but there is no smell of coffee at all. I ran two fills of hot water through it. The first had some solvent smell and small metal filings or bits of sand from the casting, so I now believe it was completely unused. This is because original instructions recommending running water through it at least twice before brewing coffee. Shipping time from the UK to the US West Coast was 3 days.

It couldn't have gone to a better home either. Your Atomic looks so clean, its as if it was manufactured yesterday. Casting sand and everything - wow!! I've personally never seen a bakelite cover in my dig for Atomic information. Heck, I never even heard of a Sassoon. Did you get instructions with your Atomic? If not, I have original instructions that I would be happy to share.

Sassoon was the UK distributor for Robbiati and then acquired manufacturing rights. I'm diving into the Atomic rabbit hole and have already been linked to the manual for my specific version. All of that will appear in its own thread soon. Here are some pix from today. The box looked undamaged, but one always opens these packages with anticipation. What began to emerge looked like this.

The Bakelite fill knob was like new.

Then I looked at the portafilter. It had never been used. You can also see the sand casting marks.

Around the bubble wrap was a recent copy of the Daily Mail, with a story about Prince William's young family. Very fitting for a British Atomic. I'm told by the collector Mikael Janvier it was manufactured between 1956 and 1964. There's no way to tell exactly. It is stamped on the bottom with A7, whatever that means. Here's the trove of literature on the Sassoon models that Mik collected and displays on his blog.

After a couple of cleaning flushes I put it on display while awaiting new gaskets from Sorrentina Coffee. The original rubber gasket has degraded so it melts when running hot water through the portafilter.
