Tom, for the lever novices and newbies , please tell us machine manufacturer and model name and manufacturer year. (I tried w/o success to read the plate on lower left side).TomC wrote:It's even better when you don't have to and pick these things up, but instead, get them delivered Picked it up for a song. It's in impressive condition, looks like it mainly needs to be cleaned and polished. She's way too heavy and massive for me, so it'll be a restoration project that'll get sold some day.

Thanks

I haven't checked the stamps on the boiler for the exact year, but it's a 2 group Gaggia Orione, likely mid 60's or so.

Thank you Tom. I saw one other HB Gaggia Orione restoration thread. Hopefully you will decide to post the final post cleanup/restoration pictures.TomC wrote:I haven't checked the stamps on the boiler for the exact year, but it's a 2 group Gaggia Orione, likely mid 60's or so.

Bought a unused Caravel for $15. at a yard sale.
It was a 110v, orange and had all the accessories.
I tried using it a few times and 'thought' it was a toy
At the times there was no info on-line about it at all..
Gave it away.
Ya, regret that now !

Nothing like some of the other finds on here, but I am still pretty excited. I just picked up a perfect condition La Pavoni Europiccola for $160 bucks on craigslist.

Sadly don't have pictures, but I'll share my Craigslist scores none the less!
I saw an ad on local Craigslist a few months back for a nearly unused 2 Group Linea PB with an asking price of $16,000 CDN. After a few weeks of going back and fourth I was able to snag it for $8000 CDN (about $6300 USD or so). It was still under its 1 year warranty and still had the majority of the laser film attached!
I also happened to find an older but barely used EK43 for $1400 CDN ($1100 USD) that same week. It was a few hours away but the seller came and dropped it off anyhow! The burrs were beautiful!
I took both machines straight to a reputable local dealer and traded them for a brand new Slayer 1 Group + Mahlkonig Peak, so I'd say I'm up.
