Borders closing, selling coffee equipment

Postby vashonz on Mon Aug 15, 2011 8:10 am

Since borders is going out of business I stopped by yesterday to look for some books, I happened to wander over to the cafe section and it turns out that when they say everything is on sale they mean everything.

I picked up some small containers and a nice timer for $3, I also snagged a Edmund ds-10 scale for $35 (I looked it up, new it's $350). What they had that was tempting but my wife would have killed me was a Ditting bulk grinder for $650, it looked almost new. Also 2 station pour over for $20, nice Nissan carafes, isi whippers, even the stainless countertops.

So if there's one near you, it's probably worth checking out, there are some great deals on commercial equipment.

Thanks for the information. We went to our local Borders this morning. Saw the same scale you mentioned, also for $35. It's tolerance was in 2 gr. increments, so I passed. But a great deal for someone in need. I have a chemical scale I got off of Ebay for about $20, digital that has a 0.1g increment, so I'll just stick with it. Though I was tempted to just flip it on Ebay. Everything else of interest was already gone. Big ticket items were still available, in particular a double door SS commercial fridge for $1700 was nice. Worth checking out.
