Great. That's who-knows-how-many minutes of my life I'll never get back.

If we are not anal about espresso, who will be?

haha awesome. I did see a Martha Stewart show where she showed everyone how to make your own ketchup. Seriously.

To be fair, making ketchup is easy, cheap and need not contain HFCS like all store bought stuff. Literally all of it.

But we are into falling after one hell of a bullsh#t like this article
The website mentioned in the article does not exist and, on the contrary, a number of easy recipes can be easily found on the net, like that one for example: http://www.apinchof.com/makingmustard1078.html and a lathe is not needed (http://mustardmonster.com/).
And we are into making our own cream of horseradish - at least I am. What is needed is juicer. And a healthy mind.

The mind is essential. Otherwise we will end discussing which frozen fries' brand tastes better and how long to microwave it, and that's the desired paradise of the foods industry. As an example have a look at this: http://www.tozgorzow.sklepna5.pl/towar/...anska.html (I was trying to find the english original but I didn't succeed and I don't have the copy to check for the original title)
It is pretending to be a cookbook for the american cuisine and the recipes are like: buy burger slices at superstore, buy frozen fries, microwave it that long, put it on plate, call it that way.
Anyway, this mustard-making-as-being-anal is not what Ken really meant:
Ken Fox wrote:For the record, in my original post I was commenting on anality that was tangential to the process of either making coffee beverages or roasting coffee. I wasn't commenting on any particular fussy technique any individual might use to make a shot. We all have those to some extent and if they work for us then I wouldn't refer to that sort of thing as being anal.

:)

I can understand your lack of familiarity with The Onion, but for what it's worth, it is indeed a newspaper parody site that posts exclusively made up BS for laughs.

That, and the fact that they have very good mustard in Poland and such things should be defended...

And their very hot spicy paprika is wonderful; unlike our garnish paprika.
