I found my first rock in about my first 50 lbs of coffee roasting. It got me thinking if you do this long enough I would figure people have found all kinds of things. What is the most interesting?

I figure this rock could do a hell of a job on the ceramic burrs of my Vario.

I tried a search but did not find this topic.

What happened to tbe beans?
Half of them look burned.

I found a little rock once .Went into my Major but caused no damage.
Roasted about 300 lbs of beans.

This is my culled bowl I roasted 5.6 pounds yesterday. I have a home-built, my drum is a vegetable roasting drum from a big George Foreman rotisserie. It is hinged in half like a clam shell. Long story short I seal the back seam with a small bit of foil to keep the beans in, the rest of the seams are tight. I roast a pound or a bit more at a time and anywhere from 2-8 beans can get caught in the foil and over roast. So I cull each roast I do, looking for those and any other things I don't like. That was the total of what I did not like from all roasts yesterday.

I distribute greens so get to see "hitchhikers" first hand.

Due to use of same drying platforms, I see lots of corn, some beans, burlap strings, and 'cement' chips. When I visited a commercial roaster, he had an array of items that they had found - lots of stones, rocks, string, some bottle caps, and even a bottle opener.

In about 3 1/2 years of roasting I've only found one stone, about the size of the one in Tony's photo. Like Tony, I found it with my eyes, not my grinder.

Funny weird, these greens were from Guatemala too, the Antigua region.

Found these in some Colombian. As you can see, they were big enough to landscape the pond area of my backyard.
