Good article. That's a pretty good overview/intro of the topic I think. The dark-roasted beans in the picture make me cringe though.

A surprisingly good article. I wonder if the author had Nick Cho review the piece in rough form, before he submitted it? Most journalists make a lot more errors in articles on coffee than are present in this one.

Nope. It was written by Joe Yonan, the WaPo food section editor for the past couple years. He's been interested in and writing about coffee for a while, and needless to say, it's pretty badass that we have him here in DC in that capacity. Specialty coffee has had good coverage in the WaPo food section under his watch!
