Yeah, I actually got a sales demo on it at Rick Lee's cafe in Taipei. Simon Hsieh, his partner came by to explain in English. It's made in the Yang-Chia Machine Works factory in Taichung; BellaTaiwan's line of roasters are produced there as well.
Vortecs have a proprietary drum metallurgy design/stirring vanes and burners. They told me Rick did a lot of testing and re-designs before settling on the final arrangement. That's the reason for the name; they claim the drum creates a vortex during the roasting process.

I was just looking at the Vortecs Pro as well and chatting with Simon about it. I would like to go over and see it in action, Taiwan is really short flight away from Macau. If I get over there I will post back here.
