While I've never actually seen one for sale, I'm about to be in the market and a quest is on the top of my list. What would I pay used if I wanted to go that route?

Good luck.

There are a few owners moving up to gas roasters who might sell; but I doubt they'd be giving much of a discount over the new price. Two reasons: They've usually upgraded the machines with instrumentation and drum mods. And there's a bunch of small commercial roasters who like it for sample roasting, so demand may outstrip supply.

^ This.

I may choose to keep mine, simply due to it's high convenience, portability and quality. If I sold it, I'd sell it for more than it cost me new, it's well instrumented and modified.
