Sonofresco hot air roaster

Postby bgn on Tue Apr 19, 2011 6:58 pm

Just stopped by the sonofresco shop in Burlington, WA today and got a demonstration of this 1lb hot air roaster in action. Very friendly people!! Didn't go home with a roaster, but did buy 20 lbs of greens at very good prices. Love the simplicity of this roaster. www.sonofresco.com They have one and two pound roasters. They have very limited user controls but it looks like it delivers as advertised; that is, a "one pound roaster" actually roasts a pound of coffee as dark as you want it.

They've been around for some time. Did you see both their electric and gas models?

As Len says, they've been around tend years at least. I've never sampled the wares; but the complete lack of control spells trouble in a commercial roaster.

The company's advertising is aimed at industry newbies opening up their first coffee shop. I guess if suh folks situate in a competitive market, they are toast no matter what they do; and if they luck into a local monopoly, a brownie camera roaster can't hurt them.

I've wondered if they could rather easily be modified for control.
