We didn't say to get rid of ads completely. We did say that we would not be renewing due to 90% of the magazine filled with ads. You have way too many (my opinion). As I said earlier in the thread, you can find more useful roasting information reading this forum. That may not be what you want to hear, but it's how many feel.

Best as I can tell, no one who has commented on the book actually has it, except the publisher. Well, I do. It is well organized, beautifully laid out, and contains a wealth of information. There is some new content in the book along with reprints of articles from the magazine.If your only coffee interest is homeroasting the book might be considered overkill by some, though in my 30+ years of homeroasting I have yet to hear anyone say "I know too much about coffee." If you are thinking of starting your own coffee business the book is an excellent resource. Roast magazine is geared for the coffee industry and should be critiqued in that light. I subscribe because I find value in the articles. I also get a lot out of reading this and other forums. All these sources bring something to the table, and my coffee is better for it.

I read it cover to cover in a 12 hour marathon on a flight from Hong Kong to Seattle. For me the index alone is worth the $125.

I'm gratified to hear our videos are appreciated, but we didn't invent roasting. We're learning like everyone else and much of what inspires us is content from sources like Roast Magazine.

I agree. I tried to let my subscription lapse, but the magazine keeps showing up. I do enjoy it. And now that this thread popped up again and reminded me, since I am taking the plunge into the coffee business, I just ordered the book.
