I finally got around to roasting my first batch.
Roaster: Huky 500 Solid Drum
Charge: 350g
Roasted: 8/10/15

My auto charge didn't mark it right and I didn't catch it right away, so add 15sec to each measurement of time.

Initial Impressions: About 15min. after I had this cooled and placed in a mason jar I opened it up to get a sniff and the it smelled like key-lime pie.

Tested via V-60 pourover this morning 26g coffee 415g water. I'm not very good at tasting and descriptors yet,but I do get a bit of that lime everyone else has been getting, but it was more of a sweet lime. Will test this again tomorrow and update.

Next roast I want to charge at a lower temp and stretch out the maillard phase longer. Can't wait to further test and roast this coffee!

You can fix the CHARGE by a right-click on the correct position on the BT curve and select CHARGE from the popup

Interested in hearing how it cups for you after rest.

I have blown through all the roasted on this and will be getting back and focusing on the roasting.

I just sent my first roast into the cooling phase in my Behmor, but I'm afraid I might have screwed it up. :( I took it to the end of drying at full power, then dropped power to 75% for the yellow phase ... three or four minutes into that I noticed I'd hit P3 instead of P4 and my chamber temp was dropping (negative ROR is not good). Hit the P4 and let things go on normally (drop back to P3 and slow drum speed at 1C), shifted to cooling the first time I went 10 seconds without a pop. Time will tell if I've baked things.

Give it a chance. Go into your cupping with an open mind and see how it cups.

+1 on the lime flavor. Not overpowering but definitely there. This is my first Gesha so i wasn't certain what to expect. Ran 8oz thru the end of 1C and hit cool on the Behmor. Pretty good on 2 1/2 days rest but I am going to try it now on 5 days rest and see if there is a noticeable difference.

Roasted 450gm last night on the Santoker 500. Was a bit concerned about not getting to a higher drop temp so ran a bit long on the development phase, but the brewed coffee this am was very good ... sweet acidity, also pick up walnut and chocolate with the lime present. Tasty!

started the roast with minimal heat ... usually let the beans slowly warm in the drum for 1:15 - 1:30 seconds and seems to work well but for some reason I got doing other things and didn't apply heat till 1:50 as you can see by the graph. You think I could control the ADD a bit better for this bean!
Can't wait for another roast!

load - 450
charge 402.8 - let sit with minimal flame for 1:50 then turned it up
1st C 369.8 at 8:46
Drop 395.5 at 11:52
wt loss was 15.6% which was surprisingly high.

Update with how it tastes. I took one roast long in dev (not as long as you) and I was less impressed with the flavor.

That is my standard roast with the gas 1K. Pre-warm, determine charge temp based on volume and elevation of origin, turn fan down, and let it soak in heat. 90 seconds, gas back on.

I just cupped my 8/16 roast next to my 8/23 roast. The test was not blind, but the lime note had faded noticeably in the older one -- no surprise there -- but it was still pleasant; nutty and sweet, even thought the fruit was muted. I have been enjoying this coffee and I'm surprised the discussion has dropped off. Is it the coffee? Is it because it is summer and people are out bungee jumping and sky diving? Is interest in R&LT is lagging? Just curious.
