Quest M3 versus SF6 - Page 3

I apologize for the delay in responding. Small business, getting married in 3 weeks, business partner moving; things are a little hectic.

QM3:

218g charge
10Amps, fan off (cooling previous batch; trap door open);
1C began to roll at 9min26sec, over by 10min42sec;
Dropped at 12min20sec at 206C. (mixed up details in previous post)

SF6: 5.3lb charge
1C at 8min32sec, over by 9min51sec
Dropped at 12min16sec 210C

I'm working on a way to compare roasts in a more systematic way. I'm thinking:

Same coffee;
Similar 1C, development time, and drop;
Agtron colors;
Cupping profiles.

So far, the Quest has been for sampling and for exploring the coffee (cupping different roasts, figuring out which qualities to highlight, then translating it onto the SF6). But, the translation process has been so arduous, I can't say it's super useful for profiling.

10A without the fan forcing air? That could reduce a lot the life of the heat element, no?

I'm still curious about your drop-in BT/MET. As you say the charge is 218g and the bottom temp is 81C, I would guess is something around 190-200°C (BT).
