I got lucky and snatched up that Quest that was offered last week in the buy/sell forum. Arrived today. While unboxing unwrapping broke out laughing. Now I've always considered the tryer on my USRC 3k a bit small, but then again small is relative!

The scoop portion does the job well enough to assess the beans, but the tiny handle is a joke. Good score. That roaster should easily sell for $1000 if it's in like new condition.

Lol, wow, it's for munchkins!

Please post how it works out for you as a sample roaster. I'll probably end up doing the same thing.

Actually won't be using it as my sample roaster, have a computer controlled HotTop I use for that. Going to put it in our downtown coffeehouse so there's a roaster there. Ok, for Bryan to play with.

The Quest does have a small trier, but really small handle for the trier.
I fixed that problem. Olive wood with interesting knots.
Now I feel like a real roaster. :D
