This is my new (as in newbie to roasting) setup SC/TO. We're full-time RV'ers so this was a challenge.

Whole setup... notice bean bags made by dear wife!

I started with the Fresh Roast +8 (in the back to the right) and quickly discovered that to get decent roast consistency and control I needed something more. Hence the Hottop. I use a cheap type K digital thermometer to measure the bean mass temp. I store my green beans in the containers to the left.

Same set up but added a 2 channel logging temperature meter and real-time charting via a macbook pro running windoze under parallels connected to the meter. this way i can monitor my roast in real time.

Started with a thrift store popper, the unsafe kind, found it to be enjoyable, so I made this set up for a drill over a gas stove. I can roast 1 cup about 1/4 lb of beans in 14-20 min.Image

Great shot Mitchell. The Behmor looks like its sitting in the eye of a hurricane of sorts. Roaster doubling as kiln?

I'd add mine but then I'd be cross posting from the thread at Coffeegeek.

My setup

I also have my laptop in the setup, but its not in the picture.

Laptop connects to the PID via serial port, and the meter via USB.
