Valerian Hrala of Boot Coffee has a podcast series he calls "coffeeis.me." This week he posted the first of three podcasts with Mike Perry. This one covers Mike's early years as a retailer and roaster. How he learned to roast. Whom he learned from. The advantages of having both a retail and roasting company. Choosing what size of roaster to buy. Blending. And many other topics.

I think there is a lot of meat in Mike's story for home roasters, especially those who are getting an itch to start a business, but even for those happy to buy from Mike and other roasters.

Disclosure: Klatch and Boot Coffee are clients.

Thank you for posting this! Was the perfect listen.

It's so nice to hear stories about people who pursue something simply because they genuinely love it. Considering how big and relevant klatch is it's nice to hear he has humble beginnings. Such a great listen and gives me motivation to keep following my dream.
