Neither of those last two ideas produced any fixes.
I did, however, realize that I still had 9.8.5, so I"m upgrading to 9.8.6 right now.
On both the desktop and the roasting laptop.

If not both, CHARGE and DROP are defined, there is no "line graph" drawn on top of Artisan.

BINGO !!!!
I had "auto drop" marked and somehow it didn't get marked.
As soon as I added it manually the graph showed up.
And now it seems so simple....
Thank you Marko.

Based on this discussion, I am going to upgrade my artisan software. Marko, I am a bit puzzled by the sizes of the downloads for Artisan version 9.8:
https://drive.google.com/folderview?id= ... 0NFdG1qUFk

There are two files shown and there is a big difference in the size:
artisan-win-0.9.8-installer.zip
24 MB in size, and appears to be for version 0.9.8.7

artisan-win-0.9.8-app.zip
36 MB in size, and appears to be for version 0.9.8.8

I expected the "installer package" to be larger. Or maybe you added some very large libraries in version 0.9.8.8?

From now on we will build two version of Artisan for Windows. They are equal in functionality and build from the same code. Those two builds differ only in the bundling. The installer version is exactly the variant Artisan was always distributed for Windows. It comes as an installer that has to be run (after the uninstallation of a previous version). This is still the recommended way to install Artisan on Windows.

The new build variant is the app version. This one bundles all components of Artisan in one file that can be moved where ever you want on the disk and that can directly be started without running any installer. The good thing of this one is that it does not need an uninstall of the previous version thus you can use two versions in parallel that way. The drawback is that it might start slower and might show some other deficits (please report).

Hope this helps.

Sorry to take a new turn on this topic, Marko ... is there some documentation as to what are the software parameters for "toasty" and "ok" and "acidic" ... would be interesting to read. I haven't run across it in the documentation. Could you point me in the right direction?
Thanks ... Steve

Hi JavaMD.

If you open the Wheel called 'flavordefects.wg' you will get the idea. But it is only approximated.

To open the file, first go to the menu and open the WheelGraph editor:

/Tools/Wheelgraph

Then, from the editor, open the file called flavordefects.wg that is located in the artisan installation inside the folder Wheels/Roasting

These are the times:

Short Drying Phase = if dry phase time is less than 3 mins (180 seconds) or less than 26% of the total time
Long Drying Phase = if dry phase time is over 6 mins or more than 40% of the total time

Short To1C Phase = if mid phase time less than 5 minutes
Long To1C Phase = if mid phase time is over 10 minutes

Short Finish Phase = if finish phase is less than 3 mins
Long Finish Phase = if finish phase is over 6 minutes

Cheers
