Did you receive and email from Sweet Marias with this information? I wonder if mine went into spam.

Uganda Kaproron Sipi Falls Honey Processed Crown Jewel. I am not much into honeys but have missed Ugandas and I found the notes: "plum/syrupy" inviting. Snagged 44 lbs and split among the MN cupping group, Gopher Gulpers.

Roast, City Plus
2:00 into first crack and drop
Vacpot. 74g in/42oz out

Fragrance: florals, slight cherry
Aroma: slight cocoa, slight savory
Acidity: high, citric
Flavor/Nuances: peach, light plum, orange, florals galore, cinnamon, juicy, slightest tannins as the cup cools. Light brown sugar sweetness
Body/Mouthfeel: medium, clean as a whistle
Finish/Aftertaste: cup consistent
Comments: different than Bugisu's. More Kenyan-like, logical due to proxmity to Kenya border. Once again, clean, clean cup. Wife may not get some unless she gets up soon. I love it.
I didn't get their syrupy. Might be in the roast; might be a need to take it more deeply. Will play with it.

Did a roast for espresso which will get evaluated tomorrow, as soon as I get my garlic harvested. Good bounty this year.
I've never had coffee from Uganda but I just ordered one from SM's. They had me with the first sentence of the cupping notes... "Heavily laden with layers of rich chocolate flavors, with dark stone fruits laying just beneath the surface".

I have never purchased from Bodhileaf, but looking over there site, they have SO many options and very reasonable prices. Is there a reason I rarely see links on this thread to beans they offer? I see a lot of sweet marias, but very little bodhileaf. This makes me wonder if they're more quantity of quality. Anyone have any insight?

I have ordered beans from Bodhileaf for several years. I treat the some of the discounted some beans as beans for the base of blends and for "customers" who want very dark roasts; Starbucks lovers.

Sometimes I really am wowed by what I buy from Bodhileaf as single origin specialty coffee. The Brazilian Volcano Fazenda Do Prado #02 @ $2.99/# I bought a few weeks ago really is great.

I talked with someone there, asking if the discount was used to get rid of old inventory. I was answered that the owner, Steve, just wants the homeroaster to experience some of the quality and variety of his offerings.

I have not been disappointed and at times I have hoarded the lot I received for myself and not shared with the dark roast crowd.

Tip: 16 pounds seems to be the max for shipping in the Medium Priority Mail Box.

My suggestion is to get on their email list and try some.

Nyeri Coffee - double washed and sun dried on raised beds. Smallholder farming families organized around the Gikanda Cooperative Society's Ndaroni Factory. Includes new variety, Batian, backcrossed SLs and Ruiru 11 for rust and CBB resistance. https://www.perfectdailygrind.com/2016/ ... an-coffee/

Two days rest. City plus. 1st crack 8:30. Dropped 10:30. Prepped in vacpot.

o Fragrance - caramel
o Aroma - honey
o Acidity - citric and tartaric. Bright but not a punch in the nose like some Kenyans
o Flavor/nuances - Winey, plum, concord grape
o Body/mouthfeel - sticky but clean
o Finish/aftertaste - cup consistent. aftertaste is lllllong and pleasant.
Score: 90.0

I am not big on Kenyans but this is a find. Maybe I am just getting soft in my old age. Great cup, so approachable. Top to bottom, the cup remains true to its character. Loved it.
