I picked up a box of the Royal Coffee Crown Jewel Colombia Antioquia Caicedo Hector Vargas and my second roast of this coffee was quite delicious. Deep, rich flavors with stone fruit notes.

Oh, and my past experience with the previous year's Yemen Haraaz Red Marqaha is that it likes a longer rest.

Real long- like a week. I got 5 pounds last year and 5 pounds the year before too. With longish development it made espresso that was sooo intense- deep rich chocolate and strawberries and something like brandy.

Chris and greg, I HATE you guys!!
I wish I had picked up0 some of the Yemen, but I was not happy with another Yemen from somewhere else last year.
Hope y'all enjoy it and YES, Yemeni needs really a week as espresso, a bit less as Kalita, etc. I always like shorter shots, but with a slow to moderate pour on my former Cremina. On the Strega, I think it was the pressure of the double spring that may have made it tough for me to get what I got from the Cremina.

2 interesting ones that just arrived yesterday and today and haven't had a chance to roast yet. So no guarantee but thought I'd mention since the Brazil lot is small.
Roastmasters; has a small amount of Brazil natural Sitio Baixadao. This farm had the COE winner in '15 that scored 95.18 and sold for $23.80, was the first COE lot bought by Starbucks for their high end launch.
Burman; has a recent washed Ethiopian from the Hunkute coop, usually pretty good.

The Seattle La Marzocco cafe is featuring several coffees this month from Tim Wendelboe and during SCA. 2 of them, colombian from finca Tamana, Elias Roa who Tim bought a piece of land from for his experimental farming. And an Ethiopian from the Hankute coop that I mentioned above. Of course not the same lot as burman is offering but still Burman's should be pretty good. I'll roast both next week. Just have too much roasted at the moment

One more interesting and unique Brazil from my Burman order is the FAF/Bob-o-link natural peaberry mokka. Marcos and Silvia Croce are doing some really good organic work on their farm. And with the Bob-O-Link coop area farmers. Joao Hamilton also producing some great lots in the neighborhood. Marcos told me the cool story behind Bob-O-Link. They had a lot of these birds in their yard when they lived in Chicago and realized they also had them on the family farm in Brazil and then learned they migrate back and forth from parts of US to parts of Brazil.

Thanks to Farmroast, I picked up some of that Brazilian Sitio. I finished my first roast of it about an hour and a half ago and my entire apartment is filled with an aroma of the sweetest milk chocolate, like the exaggerated type that you get off of cocoa-puffs cereal. Smells like a candy shop right now.
