Ditto that. I've roasted this one every which way, and just can't crack it. Jim's description is spot on. I've hit up against this with other washed Ethiopians from SM's as well. It's puzzling, because in general I find their notes to be right on the money. Maybe these coffees just don't play well in my Quest.

Hmm, odd. I roasted the Kochore very fast and found the tasting notes to be quite similar to SM's.

Good to know Evan. Your profile very closely resembles my most recent attempt, primary difference being about 20 more seconds of dev time on my end. I'll take another crack!

If that's the same Ardi that I bought from GCBC earlier this year, then it's fabulous. The description on the leverhead site is spot on; strawberry all over this one. Ethiopian greens are thick on the ground at my place right now, but I'm tempted to get more of this stuff. Really satisfying.

Larry used to be one of my favorite sellers at G**** , but he doesn't sell there anymore and I'm no longer a member there, so I don't know if it's the same or not.

I had a chance to roast up a batch of one of SM's new dry-processed Yirgs last night, the Buufata Konga ( https://www.sweetmarias.com/product/eth ... fata-konga ). I roasted it pretty much the same I would a washed Yirg, just with a bit cooler of a charge.

I highly recommend it - super clean and sweet fruits (strawberry, lime), plus the florals and tea-like character of a washed Yirg. The balance of processing and varietal character is spot on, and there's no fermenty-funky-fecal thing going on at all; this is cleaner than plenty of washed coffees I've worked with. The processing left the acidity pretty intact - often an issue with DP coffees - and there is tons of sweetness as well.
