Green coffee storage - Page 3

I'm another green coffee consumer that never keeps more than 10lbs. around the house. I actually only purchase coffee by the single pound since there are way too many for me to try still. As for storing, in the original bags they shipped in, hidden away in a cupboard until I am ready to roast. At the rate we go through coffee here, 10lbs is generally cycled through within 3 months. I've never frozen green coffee but have had a mix of good and bad freezing roasted coffee in the past. I just roast 1/2lb. at a time and keep in the grinder's bean hopper.

Not like I drink it all myself. I might need to see a doctor in that case. ;)

The 10lbs is usually consumed by myself, my partner, and we usually have a few guests within that time who are coffee guzzlers, not to mention I'll roast a batch to bring to get togethers etc. It really isn't as extreme as it sounds once you start to take into consideration that I am the only home coffee roaster in my circle of friends, and of course those that drink coffee like a sample once in awhile. :D
