Prescott CR wrote:Ditto to this. Roastmaster is an iOS app though. It can use dropbox, email and local storage. There's no monthly fee, if you want to use probes there's a $15 one time charge. The Phidgets set up for probes was very easy, haven't had to mess with it since setting it up. You can also go the bluetooth route.

I don't use the inventory in the App because I was using my own spreadsheets, so you don't HAVE to use them.

All in all I am loving this App, there's room for improvement but for data logging it's worked great for me. I roast two days a week, usually for 6hrs one day and 3hrs the next (roaster on time) and use this App. My databases are just over 1MB in size using this, that's pretty reasonable.

If you're NOT using an iPad then disregard this :)
I just started using a Huky roaster. It came with a 4 channel digital thermometer (Center). Now I'd like to use software to log data. How can I connect my iPad mini to this? Would I have to switch to a Phidghet? In order to use Artisan I need a laptop, which I don't have. I'd prefer to use my iPad mini, but it lacks USB.

Check out Roastmaster. There are several data logging interface options.

There are a couple options that don't use BT or wifi, but they'd probably replace your current probe/s.

I can vouch for the phidgets stuff working very well but for a little roaster like the Huky that might be a bit much.

Feel free to contact Danny through the support page. If he hasn't heard of the Huky yet he'll be interested in it and if he has he'll be able to guide you on the best option.
