Saw these canned green beans recently. Is there a useful storage concept here? Cans can be done quite cheaply. There's a growing amount of small specialty food processing facilities.
They are sealed. I just want a really good bean to last until the next crop year. And a little longer. A can of "El Salvador Peaberry "Aida's Grand Reserve"" canned by the farm, in-country, then shipped would interest me. I wouldn't need all of my greens done this way.
Yes, I purchased a 5kg vacuumed block a few years back, but once opened I had to repack it in smaller packages. Obviously this would only be useful for home roasters.
So are you referring to canning at origin, or canning at home? I recall you having some success with foodsaver + mason jar, and have adopted it myself for green storage. How would canning be different?
