Once I noticed it was happening, just double check the position of the bar before closing the door. On my unit I usually don't even have to push down on the bar to retract the baffles, the chafe collector just slides out.

So far more than happy with the Behmor and the results. Haven't purchased roasted coffee in two years.

Thanks all for jumping back on this!

There are several Behmor roasters lurking about on this forum. We don't have much footprint though probably because of your datalogging. I've wondered about the RoasterThing logging board recently and will dig into it a bit more shortly. May pull the trigger.

To whomever is thinking this is a turn-off about the Behmor: Many of us are trying to get far beyond basic roasting, some even to the "n"th degree of cup quality.

I ran 227 gram batch of the the Roast and Learn Kenya. NO smoky taste there through my Aeropress: lemon/citrus, peaches, mix of milky and dark chocolate.
