I commonly grind 28 grams in my flat for pour over, I could probably get 34 in there if I tried, past that fill it more than once.

The Monolith grinders, speaking for both flat and conical, were designed with the best respective burrs for espresso known with a single dosing design with virtually ZERO retention. That is huge and what most advanced home baristas have been trying to find for a long long time. While there are many Titan conical & flat grinders that can match the Monolith grind quality, virtually none that can do it with the same zero retention. Run of the mill prosumer grade grinders are in the minor leagues of cup quality let alone usability and durability. As a bonus both Monolith grinders are extremely quiet.amagad wrote:what can a single dose grinder do vs other run of the mill prosumer grade grinders? trying to understand, thx

Isnt also the main point of these Kafatek models that, the burrs are aligned PERFECTLY, with more precision than most anything else on the market...?
Then add that, to using the best burrs for the purpose, AND zero retention, and you've got the perfection we all seek.
Even without the burr choice and alignment aspect, I want one. Currently Im using the K10, which has long been a favorite here on HB, and, yeah, its a GREAT grinder, as long as you can deal with the retention. As much of a beast this grinder is, Ive been seriously thinking about selling it and going back to a flat. Maybe Ill spring for the Monolith, otherwise It'll probably be a Super Camiano, or possibly a third Mazz Major. Or maybe Ill do something crazy and sell it and get the Sette
