Will a Mazzer Mini Short Hopper work on the Super Jolly?

Postby Colorado_Espresso on Tue May 06, 2008 6:52 pm

I'd like a shorter 1lb capacity hopper for my Mazzer Jolly. Does the short hopper from the Mazzer Mini work on the Jolly?

Yes. You can also chop down the "tall" Mazzer Mini hopper to just clear the kitchen cabinets.

And the extra short Mini hopper is also an option!

The short mini hopper even works on the major, although it looks a little ridiculous.

Wish I'd purchased the ultra chopped version...the shorter mini I purchased at WLL...(has the bean stopper)...is still about an inch too tall. I don't have a Dremel tool, so chopping it down is not an option. Does the ultra chopped one have the bean stopper (the slider)? How tall is the SJ with that hopper installed? Under 17"?

The short Mini hopper will add 12 cm (4.7'') to the SJ. My SJ measures 49 cm(19'') with the short mini hopper but mind you it's the newer SJ version. The older SJ is a bit shorter.

The neck of the hopper and the way it fits into the throat of the grinder are such that the Mini, Super Jolly and Major can all interchange hoppers. You can use the "standard" SJ hopper for about a kilo of beans, the "standard" Mini hopper for about a pound or so and also the stock "shorter" Mini hopper. The hopper for the Robur is completely different. Not sure about the Kony but I suspect it is different as well.
