Will a Mazzer Mini doser fit on a Robur?

Postby mitch236 on Sun Sep 11, 2011 1:31 pm

Title says it all. I have a RoburE and want to put the doser on it for single dosing. I know I have to keep the electronic lid but I would like to remove the funnel and replace it with a Mini doser that I have available.

No, the Robur doser is taller than the Mini's.

Ok. Will the internals fit inside the Robur doser body? I ordered the body from EPNW but they don't specify what internal parts fit. I have a Mini doser and can cannibalize it.

The doser lids - if I recall correctly - are interchangeable. That means same diameter. It's likely that you could mount it although the dimension of the rectangular opening where grounds exit chute into doser may be slightly different. A bigger problem will be the height difference *If* it fits you'll still end up with an open space on the body of the grinder - below the doser - that would need to be covered.

Mitch,

What have you got to lose ? The funnel is held on by a couple of screws, take it off, leave the plate on and see how the mini doser matches up.

I posted my results in a different thread and forgot this thread was here but the Mini doser would require too much modification and all I need to have the correct doser is the housing. I bought one from EPNW and it arrived yesterday and I put it all together last night. The internals are the same except the clear plastic cylinder which still fits but doesn't go as high up on the inside.

Yes it will fit - nice and tight with 1/4" draft seal foam wrapped around, otherwise the Robur collar is 1/2" larger.
