As far as I know, the first two digits as year applies to all Mazzers. I have had a SJ and a Major, post 2000, and they both had it.

I sold a mazzer major with a doser but missing doser lid and no hopper a little more than a year ago for $300. I sold it locally. The grinder and doser worked fine but the blades were old. It sounds like your deal is better than that and certainly less than retail.
