Suppressing the autofill doser and counter on Mazzer Super Jolly

Postby misterdoggy on Wed May 06, 2009 1:25 pm

Well I am playing with an older model Super Jolly and have the doser off. It has 2 wires going to the doser. One is on top to the autofill feature which I think cuts off the grinding when the ground push against the flap and another on the bottom which I'm not sure what it does, but seems related to the flipping of the doser.

I want to suppress or take out these 2 features which don't interest me. Can I just disconnect where the wires come from OR just tape the ends of the wire and push them back in.

I guess to find where the wires come from I will have to take off the bottom plate. ??

Any help would be greatly appreciated :)

These were written for the Kony, but I believe they apply to other models: Randy's instructions for removing Mazzer microswitch.

I removed the microswitch on the doser and the placement of the 2 wires on the grid are different on the super jolly but I did the "U" wire to make a constant contact. So it should work.

Second question: The photo below shows a "counter" that clicks everytime a dose is pulled. I disconnected it as it went into a 2 sockets that had another wire going into each one together. I'm not sure I've done the right thing. Here is a photo of it

I don't imagine it needs this counter to operate ???

Also I want to take off the bottom bolt on the doser, but there is a safety pin blocking its exit. Does anyone know how to get the safety pin out ?? photo below

C'mon now, please try searching a little harder before posted questions that have been asked and answered. I searched on 'doser pin' and found this: How To Remove Mazzer Lower Doser Vane. It is also in the FAQ.

Dan,

Please go easy on the reproach. I did search, but didn't know what search words to use. Others might just search with the wording I used in this thread.

The explanation "knock out" the pin is not very descriptive on the explanation. You knock it out how ? I tried to pull it out with a needle nose pliers and more and it doesn't budge. I will have to revert to a sledgehammer :)

The suppression of the counter did not affect the working of the grinder. It turns on and off. Now as to whether or not the timer works is another story.

Got the safety pin out with a heavy duty pair of pliers and a lot of force. Let me say you need a lot of torque to unscrew the main bolt. It did come lose and its worth the effort as there are lots of old grains hiding !!

I think the older the machine the more difficult these pins and screws and bolts will be to remove.

Here's what I do: Search the unabridged FAQs on this page using Firefox. That is, I select Ctrl+F (find) and click "Highlight all". Then type in a general keyword like "doser". Yours was the fourth match on that page.
