Removing the finger guard on Compak K10?

Postby cruzmisl on Tue Sep 08, 2009 7:27 pm

Hi All,
I got my replacement bezel from Chris. Is removing the finger guard a straightforward affair? Any tips or tutorials?
Thanks,
Joe

Two screws, from what I recall. Very straightforward and easy. The bezel on mine is much more of a pain, since it's held in by two slots, and the left one requires some prying to get it to slip out.

Here is a photo with the finger guard removed and new bezel installed, with the old bezel sitting on top for reference:

Just picked up a used K10 on feeBay. What's the difference between the two bezels discussed above, and why would you want to replace either one???

From the future,

I just received the other used K10 that that guy was selling. Mine just came with the default bezel that accommodates the finger guard. I assume that the other bezel is just aesthetically superior once you remove the finger guard, otherwise there's a gap that's visible when you remove the lid from the doser. Functionally, I don't think it makes a difference.

Was your K10 packed rather poorly? Mine arrived looking ok, but the thin cardboard box was one bump from falling apart and the bubbles of the bubble wrap had mostly burst.
