any other "cons" of this machine you can think of ?I just LOVE the look of it, the fact that it's squared off like the silvia, and it just seems like the internals are very strong and well made.

I do like the small footprint of the Profitec though, despite its retention issues.

I am a newbie so nothing to compare to.

It does seem to grind with ease and the grounds are fluffy. My shots in a bottomless are mixed results but that is my technique ( or lack there of ).

I really like the this grinder, small footprint and grinds approx 16-17 grams in about 6-7 seconds depending on beans.

This with the pro 300 and I am very happy and getting better at making espresso.

I got one too. getting a little clumping but seems to be clearing up as I grind more coffee. solid machine. a bit louder than I would have expected.

I have gone through approx 12 lbs of beans so far and noticed an improvement in grinds after the last few pounds

I'm liking mine so far. Much quieter than the Compak K3 with less clumping and loving the timer.

That was one of the "other" grinders I was looking at,as well.

Do you you much/any difference in the taste between the espresso made from both grinders?

It is way (way) easier to adjust the grind. With the K3 you kind of tap the lever and hope... The T64 does appear to be more consistent. I think the flavour/taste can be better due to being able to more easily adjust the grind as the beans age/change.

I did not do a back to back to compare.

I found adjusting my OPV valve on my silvia helped with making it much less bitter/disgusting.

I really like how the profitec is engineered.
