Problem with stuck Rancilio Rocky

Postby are06 on Sun Jan 23, 2011 12:44 pm

I bought on Rancilio Rocky grinder one month ago but I have some problem with it.
If I have set it to grind at 30. So if I should put it back to 8 the top get stuck before I get to 20.
Today I used it at 45 when I should turn i back i get stuck. Now I can't move it one inch.

Do any know what's wrongly?

PS It's always empty for beans

The basic rule is: NEVER adjust ANY grinder to a finer setting if it is not running!
If you do so, you jam the remaining coffee beans and/or coffee grounds between the two burrs and run various risks including:
- bending the burr mount
- damaging the motor bearings
- breaking plastic parts (not in Rocky, of course)
- jamming the burrs so that further adjustment or movement is difficult or impossible
- damaging the threads of the adjustment mechanism
