I'm sure you didn't do anything to it. It would require some serious gnashing to mess up the burrs. I feel like I remember hearing that Doug had locked up the burrs in order to remove the handle once, so I'm sure you'll be fine. Let us know what they say!

i spoke with doug and it was kind of surreal because of seeing him in the youtube videos. I felt like i was talking to a celebrity. Maybe he is one in the home-barista world. Anywho, back to business.
Doug said that somewhere around the #150's (mine is 142) the inner burrs of the lido were randomly acting up. Some were fine and some weren't, but they were all happening randomly. This "randomness" bugged him, is what he said, and he has now found the solution that makes it more precise. He said he could just send me the inner burr assembly and have me just align it (which I would've been fine with doing) but he offered to take everything apart, check it out, clean it up, and return to me an essentially new lido if i were to send him mine. How can i pass that offer up?
A gent (who actually turned out to be some big shot pro barista) in the UK was apparently having similar issues. I guess whatever Doug figured out was wrong with the inner burr assembly did the job because he said he can grind espresso with it now and the barista in the UK is going to be using the Lido in a competition.
Thanks to everyone for having to listen to my rants about this. s'good community here.
And now, the hard part. Waiting...

That's very interesting and a great example of OE's great customer service. I'm sure you will have your LIDO back in hand shortly. Thanks for posting the conversation for users to read!

I'm dialing in the new Strega with the MACAP and the Lido.
The Strega requires a finer grind as a pump machine and I finally got the MACAP dial in, at least for the double filter.
With the Lido, I'm grinding very fine (it's about 08:30, with zero at 12:00; so tight that burr even slips eventually), quite finner than the MACAP, almost turkish, and even if the taste is about ok, the shot is quicker than with the coarser MACAP grind.
With my pump machine I use a slightly coarser grind (about 07:00) and it works very well.
Not sure what to try ... Coarser grind, overdosing and lower pre-infusion pressure ...
Will have to test a little to get it right.
Edit:
I tried with a coarser grind, down to 07:30, also went from 17 to 18gr, much more clarity and acidity. Ground still feel finer than the MACAP and the shot runs faster. Much better than finer grind.

Just got another knurled nut in the mail from Will (aka voodoodaddy) for LIDO #002, which I won recently. See here for the backstory if you're curious. In a nutshell, the axle on the new LIDO was scratched up enough from the repeated use of pliers in removing the handle that it was hard to get the burr assembly out for cleaning. That problem's been fixed now, but it would never have become an issue if Will's simple mod had been in place. I consider it $9 very well spent (including the tiny hex key and shipping)!

Popper Stopper?
Anyone using the Pharos popper stopper on the Lido?
Works OK but a fitted one from the OE punch press would be great!

+1. A bit or two pops out every grind.
