Yes, as : "there is no milled key in the shaft" , originally the burr is bolted really tight and, burr and bolt are further secured with Loctite.
It should have hold forever, but the grind was very fine and these clear beans were really very hard and, as the burr stuck I forced the handle, instead of going back and forth again.

Here's a "pure curiosity" sort of post for you all. Both of my LIDOs (LIDI?) have little grooves (shown below) on the aluminum plates right above the outer burr carriers. Anyone else see these (or similar) on your own units? Maybe they're created during the manufacturing process...
For the record, I'm not complaining!

I went to check on mine and mine has just one aluminum plate. What's the number on your Lidos? And why have two just out of curiosity?

Those groves are created by the water jet cutting process. I think.....

@SimonPatrice - Just one plate? Interesting. Pic? Mine are #002 and #003. Why two? Here's the backstory. I pre-ordered one before I learned I'd won the other! B|Java helped me break in #002 (thanks).
@voodoodaddy - Water jets? That's crazy talk. Seriously, though, if that's so then why would the grooves be in only one place?

p.s. I just noticed that the LIDO Doug's working on in his latest alignment video only has one plate above the outer burr carrier as well. Wonder when that change happened?SimonPatrice wrote:I went to check on mine and mine has just one aluminum plate.

Ok. So does your one plate have that groove? I wonder if the two-plate LIDOs are taller?
