Ok to single dose like this with Mazzer Super Jolly?

I single dose with the SJ and I tried something today that really seemed to work pretty well for making 2 drinks quickly. I leave the large hopper on the grinder. (instead of using my tamper) I weigh out 15g and dump into the hopper. I then shut the slot thing at the bottom of the hopper and drop in another 15g of beans. After I grind, brush out chute, and make my first drink I just open the door thing and let the beans through, shut the door, and grind.

The beans seemed to grind ok. My tamper doesn't put any pressure on the beans anyways so doesn't having that door shut do the same thing to stop pop corning?

Anyone else use the SJ like this? I haven't done it enough to tell if it truly saves me time or degrades grind quality.

Since your tamper isn't pushing on your beans during single dosing anyway, I don't see how using this method would produce a lesser grind quality. You're probably fine.

I used to do something like this - worked ok, no problems to report.
