I do not use the doser though, just thwack-thwack while grinding.

Right. In fiddling around some more, I've come that conclusion also. It would seem that my sweeper arms are already set to maximum.

I did not mention the Isomac Millennium I have modified that sits in my office at work with a Mazzer Mini. I added an onboard brew pressure gauge, HX preheat line around the boiler and insulated the works.

I am also thinking of getting a hand grinder and one of those stove top espresso machines similar to the one in you travel kit for hunting camp.

Will the madness ever end? I sure hope it will not.

One of my faorite stories was the movie that I was working on, where the productin office was the hunting camp of a coupla quail hunters. Directions to the shoot wer something like, "Drive from (small tiny nearly unknown) town X on state hwy Y till you get ahlfway between (small tiny nearly unknown) town X and (small tiny nearly unknown) town Z. Turn right at the entrance to the Army proving grounds. Don't enter if the red flag is up. Drive along the dirt road for about four and a half miles til it turns into a wash. Drive along the wash for about two and a half miles. Do not enter the wash if it's raining. When the wash sort of peters out, you'll see a dirt road leaving on the left. Once you are on the road, stay to the right. The left fork leads to the hermit's shack, and he may shoot. Keep on the dirt road til you see a house that is almost falling down. There are no windows, and most of the roof is gone. This is the production office." And I'm not making any of it up.
Anyhoo, we had a generator since we needed to charge batteries in the middle of nowhere, so I brought the kit. When the two quail hunters showed up, they were wide eyed. It didn't help when we invited them in to have a sandwich and go on about their hunt as if we weren't there. The kicker was my offer of "cappuccino? Espresso? Latte?" ;>

these holidays sure wreak havoc on your espresso projects!
I'm still in the middle of fixing the M31, have the new vibe pump, and have moved onto checking the input solenoids with the help of a machine-aware mate.
Was wondering if you knew of any resources (url's) or had your own info about cleaning the Cimbali Jr grinder.
I'm looking to get that into service, and it's smelly and probably completely unserviced over 7 years at the hotel.
Cheers for any info

Kareem, see Cleaning Cimbali Jr. grinder. Also, keep an eye on the La Cimbali Max Grinder - a first look, there are a lot of similarities with the Junior grinder.

LOL - ok, things I noticed about your Astoria. The dishwasher it lives on, rolls for easy cabinet access, right?

That sad little applicance to the Astoria's left, isn't your toaster is it?

No, really I'm not laughing at you <g> I'm currently in a battle with my SO about 20 amp circuit (I'll pay for it) and the plumbing needed to go direct. I paid for the Corian countertops (we'd still have Screaming Orange 70s Formica if I didn't) so if I wanna make a hole in 'em - I have the right.

I'll show him your Astoria photo and remind him just how lucky he is. I could have bought the LM 3 group I saw on Ebay and he might be sleeping in the carport. Or at least making toast in the carport, as our kitchen is a wee bit small.

And that Cimballi grinder is HOT. Makes me think of my Macap like my old Rocky...
