So when are these going to be around? I've read September but my rep is being coy about when they'll get into Canada.

Think they are already on the market for a while? It's available in Australia, at least months ago..

Saw one used model on the bay here just recently. No I didn't get it.. :D Burrs design on Mazzer website looked similar to a Mazzer Major thus not enticing enough..Serial number indicated manufacture year of 2016. The one in the listing does not have the digital display as I had seen on Youtube.

I'm surprised to see one already hit the second hand market. Especially at any kind of bargain price.

Shouldn't it have the LED face?

That's the one before the current ZM. No idea how it compares.

I do not believe there is anything digital in the alignment arena. I though that but eventually was told that the burrs are check to be as parallel as currently possible and the grinder is made with the burr carriers as parallel as currently possible.
wow Ira that's sad - so I misread the news hereunder it appears
The grinder contains a proprietary system for detecting burr proximity, through which it not only maintains all these micron-precise settings but also self-calibrates, allowing users to remove and reinstall burrs and, with a single button, instruct the machine to find its own zero point and then automatically recalculate and restore the full selection of settings for convenient, ongoing precision and repetition,
not sure if the above includes also realigning, it appears a little ambiguous, better to wait until more solid infos are published on what this machine does and does not.

It has the ability to measure the distance between the burrs and so allows or requires setting by specifying the distance between the burrs. It at least allows you to see that number. Or so I understand.

The outer burr is fasten with 3 screws to a large aluminum burr holder, this piece is again fasten with 3 front screws to the grinder housing/chamber. With that type of construction there is no way the grinder is capable of self aligning the outer burr. The inner moving burr sit on a adjustable burr holder as far as I recall, in theory you could design it so you would be able to align it to some extend, but I hardly think that is the case.

You most likely need to align the burrs in a similar fashion to many other grinders. I'm going as far as stating that how much you tighten the 3 front screws is ultimately going to have a noticeable impact on alignment, just like it's the case with the EK! However 3 screws should be easier to deal with.

Fundamentally a flawed and imprecise design!
