As mentioned earlier I am not sure about the positioning of the cable in the U.S. and it's not shown on the pictures. The QTVRs look more like it's on the side. Maybe someone who bought the new version will chime in.

I have read previously that the wire grids in the U.S. and Europe are different, presumably because darker roasts are preferred in the States. A quick search shows at least 2 different versions:

No idea what the one on the Mini E-II looks like. Interesting anyway.

I just got mine (Mini-E II B) in the mail today...pics attached. According to the packaging material it was manufactured in 10/2008. Cord comes out of the bottom, stainless steel grinds tray...those are the most obvious differences....this is my first Mazzer, so there may be other differences I am not noticing.Image
