Mazzer touch-up paint

Postby mike01 on Sun Nov 08, 2009 9:47 pm

I just pickup up a used Mazzer Super Jolly grinder off of craigslist. I got it for a good price and it is in better shape than a lot of the used SJs I see on ebay and such. The paint is in ok condition so I can't see repainting the entire grinder, however there are a few nicks that don't looks so good. Has anybody had any success finding touch-up paint that matches decently for the silver Mazzer grinders? I know it won't be perfect, but it will have to look better than looking at primer. Thanks.

The silver color(if thats the color your grinder is) can most likely be found at an Automotive Parts Store, like "Autozone", or whatever is in your area. Actually, Wal-Mart might have the color too, but around here, WalMart doesnt have a large selection.

As you note, it prob wont be perfect, but it should get you close to where, hopefully, only you will notice.

My Super Jolly is Rio badged & around 5 years old (certainly can be differences in the silver paint used by Mazzer over the years). It had 1 nick when I got it, and I happened to have two different silver touch up paints for my 2 Subarus, the "platinum silver metallic" nearly matches it perfectly. The code is "01G" if you want to get this exact one, they are like $5 from the dealer.

Thanks for the tip, I will definitely pick some of that up. With paint there are probably thousands of shades of silver and trying to guess which one to pick would be nearly impossible.
