Mazzer Super Jolly OEM chute for doserless mod

Postby tkelechogi on Sun Feb 21, 2010 1:21 pm

Hi Everyone,

There's some great mod out there, but I don't have the talent to build my own chute. And it seems that the chute at EspressoParts.com (http://www.espressoparts.com/MAZ_CHUTE) has been backordered for years.

Does anyone know if the chute for the Mini E (http://www.1st-line.net/cgi-bin/category.cgi?item=S000IMB01) will fit a Super Jolly?

Are there any other vendors of OEM Mazzer parts that serve the consumer market?

Thanks!
Mike

I purchased my SJ doserless conversion kit in 2008 from Owen O'Neill (phaelon56 here on HB and on coffeegeek). It's not currently an item showing on his Ebay store, but you may want to contact him to see if he can source one for you.

The doserless kit has never shown up in Owen's Ebay store that I'm aware of but I also bought one off of him by emailing directly. I thought the Mini E funnel was the one that comes with the SJ kit but I'd email Jim & check before ordering.

I usually keep the kits on hand for converting some of my grinders that are missing the doser (or have one too badly damaged to repair) and then sell those grinders privately as doserless.

Not sure I fully understand the reference here to a funnel that is "just for the Mini-E" and a different one for SJ. My understanding has always been that Mazzer makes only two funnels: shorter one is for Mini and SJ and a taller one for Major and Robur. Diameter is the same on both.

I buy from a distributor and although I don't divulge my wholesale cost I can tell you that 1st Line is selling the funnel - assuming it's the same one I buy elsewhere - for an incredibly competitive price. I pay only a little bit less at wholesale than what their retail price is. At that price there's just no point in trying to make your own - at least not if aesthetics are a consideration.
