It is really just retained grind, not clogging. Nothing to do but brush it out.

Yes, it's perfectly normal and nothing to worry about. With the mini you can merrily weigh out the beans per ground adding maybe a fraction more for wastage, grind and dose until the beans are all through and you can hear the motor change tone. Then poke out the grinds with the back of your brush when the burrs have stopped moving. Then pulse them, brush out and finally finish dosing. Work perfectly well. You set your grind to suit this, and you'll get less clumping than the electronic versions.
