It's fairly unlikely that the motor is shot, and more likely that it's a wiring problem, or a control problem.
Strange thing happened, I took the bottom of the grinder off, didnt see any wiring problems, but it still would not run. Then the grinder would run while lying on its side but not when it was upright. Somehow when I put it back together it magically started working. Sound like a short?
