Mazzer Mini doser removal....hex head screw size

Postby mixedup on Wed Dec 29, 2010 8:22 pm

First off, i've read the other threads regarding this....but I'm hoping someone can tell me what size socket I need to remove the doser. Mine has tiny hex-head screws....I've got a 4mm socket and it's too small....but it also looks smaller than a 5mm, so I'm guessing it's a 4.5mm??? Seems like an odd size....

Are you sure your 4 mm is really a 4 mm? I use a 4 mm on my Mazzer hex screws regularly - no problems.

I think I know the tiny hex head screws you're talking about. Although I'm referencing a Mazzer Mini-E, a 4 mm is too small (for mine also), a 5 mm is too large, but a 3/16" fits OK - not perfect, but OK. I just used it tonight when tidying up a little.

thanks! 3/16 did the trick. I'm still guessing it's a 4.5mm, but that size socket isn't easy to find, so this works fine!
