Mazzer Major with a touch of carbon - Page 2

Ross,

I agree with all of the great comments here and can't help but wonder if you pondered making a replica of Mazzer's doserless chute, given your composite background. The downside would be finding out how to make it smooth enough so as to not retain grounds.

Great work, and like many others, I'm dying to see your doserless design. Thanks for sharing.

Ross,

Love the work on your Mazzer. Goes really well with your machine.

I've been grinding with a NS bulk grinder that has a chute (a grinder that is even larger than the Major), so I was anxious to experience the doser lifestyle. With all those stray grounds that hang out in there, I can see why doserless conversions are popular. Until I get a chance to work on that project, I'll spend some time in the thwackers camp.

Be sure to do the electrical tape mod on the doser vanes until you get the doserless mod up and running. It helps a ton with stray grounds.

Again, thanks for the comments. I do have more carbon in mind for the doserless solution, but I thought I'd stay tight-lipped about it until I have something to show. I'll keep you all posted when I get going on it.

Juanjo - nice finish on yours. It looks like you moved the indicator light and switch, too. Very stately looking grinder.
