Mahlkonig K30 Small Hopper?

Postby duke-one on Mon Aug 30, 2010 2:49 pm

Hello; Anyone know where to get a small hopper for the K30 Vario? Also I have the unused full size one, is it worth anything? It is big enough to take a bath in.

Thanks, KDM

I have not seen a picture of the one I ordered but it comes from Mahlkoning, I believe it is the only factory one there is.

That particular hopper is originally a Ditting part which comes on the KR-805. Back when I was looking for a smaller hopper the Mahlkönig vendors I was talking to did not have it, but the Ditting vendors did. I hope you're getting the correct hopper and not the same tall model you already have with just a smaller diameter (as seen on the K30 Twin).

Nasi at Fortuna http://www.coffeeshopsolutions.com sells the K30 and has an aftermarket short hopper for about 1/4 that price. I haven't seen it in person, but it looks good in photos.

Thanks, Da Gino but too late: I had already ordered the "official" hopper. It fits just fine and holds a reasonable amount of beans, and much less air, for my purposes. I sold the jumbo one to a caffe in Canada for $50+shipping. Now to dial it in!

1/20/11 The guy in Canada was not serious about buying my jumbo hopper and would not own up to that he changed his mind, either via email or phone. I had boxed it up with bubble wrap and was ready to ship it, now it takes up half a shelf in my closet. Maybe if I drop the mini hopper I'll cut it down to size as suggested by several folks here.

Thx,
