Mahlkonig K30 and Elektra MX sound

Postby Juanjo on Fri Jun 12, 2009 11:37 pm

Hi,

here is a little video of how the K30 and MX grinder sound..
As per the grind goes I like both about the same, the K30 is much easier and faster to use in a home environment (at least that the only way I use it)

both GREAT grinders.

Your K30 seems a LOT louder than mine. Interesting.

The camera may be amplifying the sound. I know that mine does.

I just came back from testing the sound level :)

My Compak K10 measures 65dB at 1.5 feet distance and no beans. At 2.5 ft is only 62dB. The distance to the mike really affects the sound level.

My BrewtusIII measures 62 dB with pump on at hand distance (~2.5 ft)

PS: The lowest scale of my meter is 60dB. So it may be even lower than measured.

I wish I could, but it's packed up as I'm about to sell it. Just waiting on the buyer to pay!

It really just hums. Sounds like a rotary motor. Barely much louder than that when it's grinding.
